Why Boycott Israel
“Where is the world? Is it dead?” exclaimed the bereaved mother in Rafah on Al-Jazeera. Before her, lied the lifeless body of her little child. Young, restless and not very democratic
During the year of the 50th anniversary of that historic decision - an echo of which resonates in the recent ruling by Israel's Supreme Court, stating that there is to be no discrimination between Jews and Arabs in the allocation of lands by the Jewish Agency - a distressing and worrisome picture is revealed here.

Enlightened but exasperating Europe
There is also no need to recount the persecution of Jews in the Christian world, which is at the basis of the history that every Israeli child studies. There is a more recent example: the European countries' refusal to allow landings by planes in the American airlift during the Yom Kippur War, on their way to providing vital aid to the Israel Defense Forces.

Democracy in the Middle East, but only on America's terms
It has always been only a matter of time until the United States' professed desire to promote reform and democracy throughout the Arab world rubbed against the reality that free Arabs would probably express strong criticisms of Israel and of America's Middle East policy.
