The Jerusalem Post, offering the "exclusive" video and

Palestinian
refugees in Iraq caught in the crossfire
Palestinian
refugees living in Iraq are the hidden victims of the Iraq conflict
-- suffering threats, torture, killings and appalling living
conditions in refugee camps such al-Waleed near the Syrian border,
according to a new report by Amnesty International. The report Iraq:
human rights abuses against Palestinian refugees looks at the human
rights abuses committed against Palestinians living in Iraq since
the US-led invasion in 2003 and highlights the lack of action by the
Iraqi government and the Multi-National Force to protect them.
"Palestinians are currently one of the most vulnerable groups
in Iraq. They are being hunted down, abducted, tortured and, in some
cases, killed without any effective steps being taken to protect
them," said Malcolm Smart, Middle East and North Africa Program
Director at Amnesty International. "They also face great
obstacles in seeking refuge as the authorities in both Syria and
Jordan, the main countries hosting Iraqi refugees, remain extremely
reluctant to allow Palestinian refugees to enter their territory,
and there is now a pressing need for other countries to resettle
those most at risk."

DOZENS
OF PALESTINIANS SIFT THROUGH RUBBISH TIPS TO SURVIVE
PSAGOT,
WEST BANK, 30 September (IRIN) - For some West Bank Palestinians
rubbish has become not only a livelihood but the only method of
survival they know. Many dozens of Palestinians across the
territory, including children, work at landfill sites, trying to
earn a meager living. "This is very hard work here. My hands
are all cut up, it smells. But what can I do? There's no work in
Ramallah," said Muhammad, from al-Bireh, a nearby town. Aged
43, he has worked for the last 30 years -- apart from a stint in
jail -- in the Psagot landfill site, sifting through the rubbish in
search of scrap metal.

Levy : No one is guilty in Israel
Nineteen
inhabitants of Beit Hanun were killed with malice aforethought.
There is no other way of describing the circumstances of their

residential neighborhoods with artillery can't claim he didn't mean
to kill innocent inhabitants.

A
CRACK IN THE WALL
"Getting
inside the official Israeli mind is a worthwhile, if lurid,
experience," the late Edward Said wrote in his article
"Dignity, Solidarity and the Penal Colony." This is what
it feels like when one is trying to understand the Middle East peace
process that never seems to lead to anything. Observing this never
ending saga, one can hardly help reaching the realization that peace
is not a priority for Israel, and indeed Israeli governments have
made no secret of the fact that a peace that precludes Israel's
complete control over historic Palestine is of no interest to them.

Palestinians
liven up checkpoints with a good book
A new charity is easing
Palestinians' frustration with their regular long waits at Israeli
army checkpoints by stocking taxis with books for them to read.
The checkpoints, which Israel says are needed to stop suicide

Palestinian towns and villages. "People spend many hours at
checkpoints," said Nafiz Asilah, head of the Palestinian
Library on Wheels for Non-Violence and Peace, an independent
organisation funded by European NGOs.
