Qalqilya crossing new international (APARTHEID) border
Israeli authorities informed the Palestinian side that the crossing would be opened at 4:30 this morning. This was delayed, however until 6:00 am under the pretext that Israeli officers were training soldiers on how to deal with workers and their documents.

Court nixes petition to connect power for young (ARAB) cancer patient
The three-year-old girl has undergone three operations and is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment. The High Court of Justice has rejected a petition asking the state to connect an unrecognized Bedouin village in the Negev desert to the electricity grid, to allow a toddler who suffers from cancer to receive treatments at home.

Legal report says PA efforts to curb security chaos not enough
The report also called for providing the necessary protection to PA institutions, first and foremost the courts, judicial bodies and members of the attorney general's office so these bodies will be able to carry out their duties. It also called on the PA to conduct serious investigations into security violations and to publicly announce the results of these investigations. The violators, the report said, should be apprehended and brought to justice.

Report: Gunmen steal lion, two parrots from Gaza zoo
Zoo manager Saud al-Shawwa has offered a reward of 1,000 U.S. dollars for the return of the lion and of two Arabic-speaking parrots which were also stolen in the 30-minute heist. According to the reports, four gunmen armed with Kalashnikov semi-automatic rifles broke into the zoo and overpowered the guard.

27 percent increase in tourism to Israel
From January through October there were 1,589,700 visitors to Israel, a 27 percent increase over the same period last year. Gunmen kill Sunni political leader near Fallujah

US embassy confirms kidnapping of American in Iraq
