East Jerusalem residents fume over lack of mail delivery
Ba'as passed her exams. But because it's too long a trip to check her mail everyday, she missed the deadline for course registration and couldn't get into the next classes she wanted. Ba'as, 23, is an Israeli Arab. She says that she's never had mail delivered to her home here by the Israeli Postal Authority. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says Jerusalem is the "undivided" capital of Israel.

Olive trees uprooted in Palestinian village
"At the beginning of the month, while we were busy with preparations for the id al Fitr holiday, we discovered that 190 of our finest olive trees were loaded on trucks and disappeared," Muhammad Abu Rahma, one of the land owners hurt by the uprooting, told Ynet. THE MISERABLE OCCUPATION ON A MISERABLE MORNING
Throughout the demolitions, a steady rain fell and we could only wonder what the families whose houses had just been demolished would do once the army, spectators and activists left. Those of us who had come to witness the demolition were wet, cold, and uncomfortable. But at least we had a place to go to dry off and change our clothes.

Court gives Mofaz 10 days to report on plans for demolishing buildings at illegal outpost
Justice Ayala Procaccia did not make do with Mofaz's pledge to the High Court at the beginning of the month to remove the structures by the end of January 2006, "unless the security situation did not allow it." Fatah holds first primaries ahead of January poll
Although dozens of polling stations opened in the West Bank, the voting to choose Fatah candidates for a January Palestinian parliamentary election was delayed in Hebron, Tulkarm and East Jerusalem as well as in the Gaza Strip.
