EU mulls renewing ties with Palestinians in East J'lem
The European Union is considering renewing political contacts with Palestinian representatives in East Jerusalem and economic assistance to Palestinian institutions in the city. The move comes in response to EU dissatisfaction over Israeli actions such as the building of the separation (APARTHEID) fence (WALL), the planned expansion at (ILLEGAL) Ma'aleh Adumim, and the destruction of Palestinian buildings.

Israel to build 310 lots to Maleeh Adumim Settlement
Yitzhak Herzog, the outgoing Israeli Housing Minister, and Labor party member, approved the construction of 310 housing units, in large settlement blocs in the West Bank. This decision was taken in coordination of the newly elected leader of the Israeli Labor party, Amir Peretz. Teachers, students hold classes near a military checkpoint in Hebron
Mohammad Omran Al Qawasmi, head of the Ministry OF Education in Hebron, told the IMEMC that the two schools, Al Faiha' school for Girls, and the Ibrahimi School for Boys, in the old city of Hebron, are located near the Ibrahimi Mosque, in an area which is continually surrounded by the army.

Palestinian detainees in Shatta facing harsh conditions
Lawyer of the Society, Sana' Dweik, said that the detainees are facing bad health conditions, and that some detainees are suffering bad physiological conditions, since they are placed in rooms which lacks the fundamental requirements for a normal living.

After being asked to step out of the vehicle, the Palestinian security men found out that the five soldiers are carrying identification cards which belongs to Palestinian residents from Jerusalem. Palestinian shot dead in clashes in Jenin
A Palestinian man was shot dead yesterday and twelve more were wounded in gunfights after Israel Defense (OCCUPATION) Forces troops entered the (OCCUPIED) West Bank town of Jenin in pursuit of suspected militants, Palestinian and Israeli officials said.

PA parliament rejects proposal to postpone election date
Legislators voted 20-10 against the proposal, brought by lawmakers from Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement. The legislators wanted to have all candidates compete on party lists. Under the current system, half compete on party lists and the others at the district level.

PNA, Egypt reach deal on operation of Gaza border crossing
The deal was inked on Wednesday between Egyptian officials and Palestinian Minister of Civilian Affairs Mohammed Dahlan who started a brief visit to Egypt on Tuesday, according to the sources. According to the agreement, Palestinians under 18 and above 40, students and diplomats will be permitted to enter Egypt via the Rafah crossing without visa.
