A man's battle to keep his home
Not only does Mr Natsheh have utility bills for the house dating back several years, but he has numerous photographs that prove it was there before the neighbouring section of the Jewish settlement of Pisgat Ze'ev was built in the 1990s. "They are saying that he built the house illegally between June and mid-August, which is clearly ridiculous. I have photographs and aerial photographs of it going back years," says his Israeli lawyer, Daniel Seidemann.

West Bank barrier will increase bloodshed: Latin Patriarch
During the protest at the village of Abood, near Ramallah, which has lost around 4,000 dunums (988 acres or 400 hectares) of farmland to the barrier, Michel Sabbah said that the Holy Land "needs bridges not walls". "This wall just brings hatred which in turn leads to violence and bloodshed. Those who are building it are making a major mistake," he said Sunday.

Breaching the Barrier
The effect, perversely, has been a steady migration of Palestinian Jerusalemites from outside the barrier to Arab neighborhoods deeper inside the city. And as the Arab neighborhoods grow overcrowded and property prices rise, a few dozen Palestinian families have begun renting or buying apartments in West Bank (ILLEGAL) settlements bordering Jerusalem.

Gov't to make Kotel more teen-friendly
The government's decision to invest in a spate of Western Wall projects in an attempt to make the Jerusalem holy site more attractive to Israeli teens comes at a time when an increasingly large number of Israeli youth stay away from a place which they find little in common with, even as the amount of visitors touring the Western Wall is at an all time high.

The safe passage: The history of a farce
Anyone interested in understanding the essence of our relationship with the Palestinians is invited to read what was written in the newspapers during the past 12 years about "the safe passage" Israel promised to open in 1993 between the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Israel's behavior toward the Palestinians - the evasiveness, the lack of a modicum of goodwill and the failure to honor agreements.

'Look for another people to occupy'
Gaza is shriveled up geographically, crowded by any international criterion, and young with respect to the age of its population. It is inhabited by refugee camps that have burgeoned to monstrous size, imbued with religious belief and a traditional way of life that sanctifies family frameworks and a conservative way of life.

School told Nobel Prize winner in economics, `You're no good at math, try auto mechanics'
However, it is rare for the scientific prizes to arouse controversy. Thus the opposition to Aumann and Schelling's award was exceptional: Close to 1,000 people, including several dozen Israelis, signed a petition proclaiming it "monstrous" to award a Nobel prize to "two war-mongers."

"Can a racist or a Holocaust denier receive the Nobel prize even if he is very talented in his scientific field? Political views are relevant." Prof Aumann, who fled Nazi Germany in the 1930s and moved to Israel in 1956, has described the removal of Jewish settlers from the Gaza strip as an "expulsion" and described it as "immoral, inhuman and stupid".

How might Israeli and Palestinian elections affect one another?
An even more dramatic Palestinian electoral influence on Israel's elections could revolve around Hamas' performance on January 25. If Hamas scores what would appear to Israelis to be significant electoral gains, thereby presumably guaranteeing it a hawkish input into the future policies of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority, this would likely damage the election prospects of the Israeli Zionist left

A Review of "Paradise Now"
Israeli occupiers prove daily to residents of the West Bank that they live in the opposite of Paradise; indeed, even a momentous distance from a contiguous and liberated Palestinian state. The beautiful future exists only in the fantasy of the two young male protagonists, and presumably those who have programmed them to take the violent route to Heaven.
