The demolished house belonged to the family of Khalid Mohammad Bishara. An Eyewitness Account of the Murder of Muhammad "Niinu" Al-'Assi

As I turned from the window, I caught just a glimpse of Muhammad as he ran out the side door, barefoot, wearing shorts and undershirt, into the garden on the left of the house. (Since we never walk on indoor floors wearing outdoor shoes, we were all barefoot, in fact.) Muhammad had no weapon, not even a handgun. Why would he? He had come to tell a story. The Israelis easily could have arrested him as he ran out the door—but they wanted him dead.

Ahmed's gift of life
the 12-year-old Palestinian was shot by Israeli soldiers while holding a toy gun. "To give away his organs was a different kind of resistance," says Abla. "Violence against violence is worthless. Maybe this will reach the ears of the whole world so they can distinguish between just and unjust. Maybe the Israelis will think of us differently. Maybe just one Israeli will decide not to shoot."

Israel's fear of democracy
While Sharon didn't say what measures he would sanction to disrupt the first ever multi-party elections in the occupied territories, it is quite easy to predict what the Israeli army could do in this regard. Israel could order the arrest of elections organisers and campaign activists in order to render Hamas off-balance and keep the movement in a perpetual state of anxiety.

Al-Kidwa: Israel won't evade Hague Court fence ruling
Al-Kidwa also said that Israel is consistently and relentlessly eliminating the option of two states living side by side. "Israel is rapidly closing the window of opportunity for two states. It is close to forming a binational state. Today the situation is very similar to the one in Yasser Arafat's era, and things depend on Israel much more than they depend on us. London hosts conference "Palestine, Israel and the Law"
"Israel's occupation is worse; far worse than apartheid. South African apartheid was despicable. There were bombings and shootings. But never was a one tonne bomb dropped on a township. And there were no walls or fences in a Bantustan like in Israel/Palestine...Israel needs to be turned into the pariah state of the 21st century that apartheid South Africa was in the 20th century".

One Year after Arafat, Peace Remains Elusive
In the year since Arafat's departure, violence continues. Israel's construction of the Wall and expansion of settlements also continues. The peace process remains on hold; the Roadmap is at a dead end; and Israeli dictates on the negotiating table at Camp David have been translated into the unilateral disengagement from Gaza. Was Arafat the man really an obstacle to peace...

A year after Arafat - By Yasser Abed Rabbo
We both lost two men who managed to set the tone for a genuine peace agreement between the two peoples. Unfortunately, Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated ten years ago. A while later, a process of character assassination against President Arafat started. It went on even after the man was laid to rest a year ago next to his wrecked headquarters in the Muqata in Ramallah.
