Moving into East Jerusalem
Shoe-horned into the slopes of Sheikh Jarah, an Arab neighborhood in East Jerusalem, is the newer Jewish enclave Shimon Hatzadik, or Simon the Righteous. The reason the newcomers came is the same reason the longtime residents would like to see them leave: The more Jews who settle in East Jerusalem Arab neighborhoods such as these, the less likely it is that Palestinians will be able to build the capital of their hoped-for state here.

In one month's time, you will be singing “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” I wonder: How you will sing it this year, having declared your support for transforming our “little town” into a big, open-air prison, leaving no green space for our children to play or our olive trees to grow?

VIEW: The issue of Jerusalem will never go away —Jonathan Power
Yasser Arafat always said “The Arab leader who will give up Jerusalem has not been born.” The report argues that the effort to establish illegal Jewish settlements in and around East Jerusalem and to use the route of its separation wall is “to seal off most of East Jerusalem, with its 230,000 Palestinian residents, from the West Bank” and to create “a de facto annexation of Palestinian land”.

New documentary a family tale older than Israel itself
It's also an amused study of misplaced premises and faulty representation. It's not a story of burning tires and bulldozed houses - a la Ijtiah , Hassan's 2002 documentary on the Jenin invasion. It's a family tale older than Israel, though its telling is fenced in by the tense courtesy of life under Israeli domination.
