Gandhi In Palestine
As Gandhi began to speak, a youth climbed the wall and lustily waved the Palestinian flag. "This wall which I see here reminds me of the Bantustans (self-governing enclaves) which the apartheid regime in South Africa tried to create," Gandhi said. "I've come here to protest two kinds of injustices, the injustice of a wall and the injustices of prisoners who are treated worse than animals."

State continues to implement anti-Arab segregation
The ILA justifies its policy by claiming it is carrying out the policy of the JNF, the owner of the land on which the project in question is being built, and one of its biggest owners. The JNF (Jewish National Fund) predates the establishment of the state. It was founded in order to purchase land from Arabs for Jewish settlement

Occupational hazards
They were "My Story" books where the children set down in words and pictures their history and their wishes. Every one I picked up said it was very difficult to see the future. Many of them wrote that they dream of becoming doctors, many asked, "Am I going to end up performing a martyrdom operation?"

Israel tallies up compensation claims by Iraq's Jews
Discussion of Jews and property has also surfaced within Iraq itself. In late December 2003, a source within the Iraqi Governing Council told the Jerusalem Post that the council was considering restitution of Jewish property seized as of 1951. Rumors of "foreign Jews," presumably former Iraqi citizens, seeking to buy land in Iraq, were rife.

The Timing of the Israeli Crimes
It seemed clear that the Israelis were stunned from the success of Hamas at secrecy in Jericho. They were equally staggered with the loss of human life in Beer Shiva. Israeli analysts acknowledged the presence of a "black hole" in the intelligence information about Hamas in Jericho;

Meager turnout in PA voter registration drive for Dec. elections
However, Arafat was also one of the few. While more than 1,000 voter registration centers opened throughout the Palestinian territories, turnout was light on Saturday morning, in part because of voter apathy and a widespread belief that the elections will not bring real change.

How Are You, Non-Violence? - By Uri Avnery
There are people amongst us who are ready for a compromise peace but have been led to believe that “there is no one we can talk with”, because “they” don't want peace but seek to annihilate us. But we must understand that Palestinian violence, which causes so much bloodshed, is the predictable result of our cutting off every other road in front of them.

No answer to the Qassam

Off the road map?
A cynical interpretation of the administration's waffling response to expanding the settlements is that it helps both Sharon and Bush politically — Bush with pro-Israeli voters here and Sharon with a governing coalition fragmented over his plans to pull out of Gaza.

Not anti-American, but anti-Bush
To the Europeans, the war in the Middle East is of an entirely different nature, and it threatens to set the world back 100 years, to the eve of World War I. Because there was only one real reason why George W. Bush embarked on the campaign of conquest: to consolidate the imperialist status of the United States, and to subjugate the world to its national interest.
