Military Operations between August 26-September 2, 2004
Army accelerated the construction of the Separation wall in the West Bank, especially around Jerusalem and completed the infra Structure of the Wall in the area between Qalandia checkpoint, in the south of Ramallah and Al-Qhahia area, in the north of Jerusalem. Soldiers, on the other hand, started erected Concrete Walls in the north east of Jerusalem .

Damian Clarke's Update From Palestine
Now there are plans to build the apartheid wall between this settlement and Nillin. Nillin stands to lose between 1,000 and 2,000 acres of land as a result depending on a final court decision on the route of the wall. Either way there will be people in Nillin who lose all of their olive groves and their livelihoods when the wall is built.

Prisoners adjourn hunger strike until Sunday

Palestinian teenager killed by Israeli fire in Gaza Strip
A Palestinian teenager was killed and three wounded by Israeli fire in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, Palestinian medics said. Munir al-Sindi, 17, was killed in the impoverished Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood hard by the Israeli-controlled border with Egypt, the medics said. One of the three wounded was seriously hurt.

EU opposes Israel's resumption of construction of settlements in West Bank
Dutch Foreign Minister Bernard Bot made the statement while addressing the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers here on Friday. "We oppose recent steps by Israel to resume construction in certain settlements on the West Bank," Bot stressed.

So perhaps the Palestine of Resolution 242 has gone. Perhaps the moderates have caved in to the zealots. Perhaps Palestine's only hope lies in its original image of one secular, democratic state, with equal rights for all, regardless of ethnicity or religion.
